Our customer was wishing a new en suite off the master bedroom in her Kilmacolm sandstone villa. The old suite was removed and the walls stripped back to the lathe and plaster. The floor and ceiling were taken down, the floor levelled and the pipework was modified for a new low profile shower tray, concealed shower valve and wall hung double sink vanity unit. The room was re-sheeted throughout with new plasterboard and plywood and then the showering area walls had a painted on waterproof tanking applied to them, designed to prevent water penetration behind the tiled walls and unsightly black mould appearing. Spare space in the showering area was used to build and frame a showering ducket at one end of the shower, for storing shampoo bottles etc. A co-ordinating feature tile was used on the long showering wall to add interest to the room.
